Trizonia to Galaxidi

annjsaundry

Galaxidi which, in the 18th and 19th centuries, was a prosperous port, sounded like a great place to spend a couple of nights and also offered us the opportunity to spend a day ashore visiting Ancient Delphi.

We left Trizonia at about 9.30 with the wind still blowing from the east.

We had heard that the quay at our destination could get very busy so decided to take a direct route rather than stopping for lunch and a swim in a bay on the way as you can see below.

After rounding A Andromachi, we were able to sail for a short while before preparing for the approach to Galaxidi.

The best place to moor was stern to against the quay so we dropped the anchor 50m from the quay and reversed back. Someone from an adjacent boat helped take the stern lines and we were soon firmly in place.

It was good to feel that we could relax for a couple of days without having to plan our next passgage, apart from deciding how to get to Delphi, of course.
